Hailey Bieber makes a strong case for the wavy bob

Since debuting her neck-grazing bob in January this year, Hailey Bieber‘s made the haircut her style signature.

From styling it into ballerina buns and accessorising it with chic petite bows, the 26-year-old founder of Rhode skincare has proven that short bobs are as versatile as they come and the smallest tweaks can bring about a whole new vibe.

Over the weekend, Bieber attended the Baby2Baby Gala in Hollywood sporting one of her most glamorous itterations to date, the wavy bob. Created by hairstylist Bryce Scarlett, the look features a deep side part and ‘S’-waves with outward flicks. Think a classic, old Hollywood mood, made modern on Bieber’s shorter lengths. A curling tong, used to create waves in different directions to keep it from looking overdone, is the easiest way to recreate the style.

For lasting style, principal stylist at Arkive By Adam Reed salon Andrew Plester recommends loading up the hair with mousse and a heat protector such as L’Oréal Professionnel Techni.Art Pli Shaper as it provides ample hold without weighing the hair down.

Bieber’s bob is never without a mirror-like sheen, so to channel the look ensure the hair is in top form by incorporating hydrating treatments in your haircare routine and finishing the style with a spritz of gloss (try Color Wow Pop & Lock High Gloss Finish).

To complement Bieber’s sleek and strapless Saint Laurent ensemble (styled by Karla Welch), make-up artist Mary Phillips went with a softer take on summer’s ‘latte make-up‘ trend using a hazy taupe eyeshadow, gentle berry tones on the cheeks and of course, Bieber’s other beauty signature, a glazed lip – this time in a chocolatey plum hue perfect for autumn/winter. We’re willing to bet Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Espresso has something to do with it…
